Written to be read, like everything else here.

This page says what Proso reads, what it stores, what it never touches, and how you get rid of all of it. If anything below is unclear, email us and we'll answer in plain language.

The short version: Proso reads your catalog, sales, and inventory from Shopify to build your plan. It stores aggregated sales numbers, never your customers' personal details. Your data lives in an isolated partition, is never sold or used for other stores, and is deleted after you uninstall. Billing runs entirely through Shopify.

Who we are

Proso ("we") is a production and inventory planning app for Shopify, operated by its founder. Contact for anything in this policy: hello@prosoapp.com.

What we read from Shopify

When you install Proso, Shopify grants it read access to:

Proso reads. It does not change your storefront, your products, or your prices.

What we never store

Your customers' personal information. Order data is reduced to daily unit counts per variant before it is stored. We keep no customer names, emails, addresses, phone numbers, or payment details, and we have no interest in them. If Shopify sends us a customer data request or redaction webhook, our truthful answer is that there is nothing to return or redact.

What Proso creates and stores

The working data you build inside the app: plans and their overrides, orders and purchase orders, suppliers, materials and consumption, notes, settings, and learned lead times. This is your operational data; it exists so the app works, and for no other reason.

Files you import

If you use the import screen, the spreadsheet or document you upload is processed to extract rows (products, purchase orders, suppliers). For the AI-assisted import lane, the file's content is sent to Anthropic's API for extraction; per Anthropic's API terms it is not used to train their models. Files are processed for the import and are not kept as documents afterward; the extracted rows become your operational data above.

Where your data lives

That is the whole list. If it grows, this page changes first.

The early-access list

If you sign up for early access on this site, we store the email address you give us (and your store domain, if you add it) in the same Tokyo database, for exactly one purpose: the launch email and your founding pricing. One email, no sequence. Want off the list? hello@prosoapp.com and it's deleted.

What we don't do

We do not sell data, share it with advertisers, run tracking pixels on this site, or pool your numbers into cross-store benchmarks. The app uses session cookies for Shopify authentication and nothing else.

Uninstalling and deletion

When you uninstall, Shopify notifies us and your store's data is flagged. It is retained for 30 days so that a reinstall picks up where you left off, then deleted. Want it gone sooner? Email hello@prosoapp.com and we'll delete it on request. We honor Shopify's mandatory privacy webhooks (customer data requests, customer redaction, shop redaction).

Your rights

You can ask us what we hold about your store, ask for an export, or ask for deletion at any time: hello@prosoapp.com. We answer as a small company does: quickly, and by a human.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes in a way that matters, we'll note it here with a new effective date. We won't quietly expand what we collect.

Draft under review. This policy is live for early-access transparency while its final details are confirmed: the registered legal entity name, the 30-day retention window, and a governing-law clause if counsel wants one. Questions meanwhile: hello@prosoapp.com.
